Here is a caterpillar eating a leaf that I noticed as I was walking on a trail at Oso Flaco Lake, part of the former Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Preserve, operated by The Nature Conservancy. Fascinating - but it does remind me of the film "The Fly" when I look at its head.
